Lupita's - Freeport

I only order the Carne Guisada taco Hippos when I go. Been coming for 20 years. Best homemade tortillas around. The place does need some work inside though. If you can forgive that you will love the food.

Facility was clean, food was great. Tortillas are made fresh, food is made to order.

We’re visiting from Kentucky and have ate here everyday since we arrived in Surfside. We don’t eat meat, but they modified for us. If we ever make our way back, we’ll definitely eat here again!

A freeport staple going back to the early 90's , the food has always been awesome and so the service too. The dishes come in good size portion. You will leave satisfied

If you're thinking about trying their breakfast tacos, here's what you should know: they're BIG! I have quite an appetite, yet one taco had me feeling pretty full. They also offer larger options called breakfast burritos, which are even bigger. We ordered a mix of their traditional breakfast tacos and the breakfast burritos, and everything was fantastic! Other reviewers praised The Hippo, which was indeed very good, but my absolute favorite was The Chevy. It costs a bit more, but it’s worth every penny—it's a meat lover's dream and unlike anything I've ever had for breakfast! I regret not taking a photo of The Chevy since I think it was the highlight of the meal, but I did manage to snap pictures of some of the other options (like the bacon and egg taco) and The Hippo. Honestly, you can't go wrong with any breakfast item here. They serve a red salsa that I highly recommend adding to your tacos and burritos. It has a perfect blend of flavors and pairs well with everything (not too spicy, just right). The tortillas are among the best I’ve ever tasted. Overall, it's a very nice and clean establishment that's easy to get in and out of, with excellent food. I highly recommend it if you're in the Freeport Surfside area and craving Mexican cuisine!
