Pescatore Palace And Banquet

Pescatore's is a nice restaurant. I made a reservation and when we arrived the table we were assigned had a placard with my name on it. That was a nice touch. The waitress was new and didn't know much about the menu and struggled with our order. We ordered an appetizer and she came back later and asked us if we had ordered an appetizer. For my meal I chose the Grigliata Mista dell Adriatico (Grilled Adriatic Seafood on a bed of vegetables). The flavor of the food was very good, but when it came out it was not hot and the calamari was rubbery. My wife had the fish of the day which was sea bass. Normally sea bass is served in thicker portions but this dish was filleted. She said the sea bass was good, however, sea bass is a very mild fish and it had a balsamic glaze that she said overpowered the meal since the fish was filleted and somewhat thin. During the meal the hostess came to our table and checked on us. She informed us that the waitress was on her first day. That was nice of her to inform us. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice. Parking is plentiful. After dinner I had a cappuccino, which was excellent. My wife excitedly ordered the lemon ice for desert. She was excited because the menu indicated that it was served in a real lemon half. We were recently in Italy and she ordered that quite a few times when were were there and she thoroughly enjoyed that. That is typically how it was served where we were in Italy. Unfortunately, when the dessert arrived it was in a class, albeit, in a very nice class with a stem. I feel that if a restaurant is going to serve and item differently than it is listed in the menu, the patron should be notified so that they have the option of changing their mind. Overall we had a good time. I do think that an establishment that charges the prices that this restaurant does should do a better job. I likely won't return since there are many other fine options here in Chicago.

This was our second time at Pescatore. Both times, the food was amazing and service was top notch. I wish we lived a little closer because this would definitely be one of our regular places to visit for a night out.
