Bochinche's Lounge - Fortitude Valley

I had never had Venezuelan food and really enjoyed trying it for the first time here. The staff were lovely and took us through the menu. We just ordered based on their recommendations and the food was both interesting and delicious. They are generous serving sizes. Has a real "family run" restaurant feel (I have no idea if it is) but was such great fun I will be heading back shortly.

We had a really good experience , never thought about the warm reception , tasteful dishes and a touch of Venezuela in Australia. The friendly family and Reinaldo will look after you , and really a place to visit again.

Brisbane is getting a lot of Latin American places and this is the very first sit down restaurant offering Venezuelan food with dishes and delicious flavours from different regions. Great place to discover the Arepas (corn cakes), Cachapas (corn pancakes) and many other specialities. While I had the Pabellón Nacional, national Venezuelan dish, my family had a tasty Arepa Bochinche (pork and cheese) and a fully loaded Patacón. For entrée a large serve of yummy Tequeños. Every single flavour was exactly like anything you can find in Venezuela. I have to mention the Chicha, such a refreshing drink perfect for the warm evening. Definitively we need to come back as there are several mouth watering items in the menu that we would like to try.Place has a nice ambient with latin music, service was great. No matter that it opened just two weeks ago, the team is quite organised and the food was delivered in a timely manner. Weekends is open for dinner.
