The Sandbar And Grille

Everything was going great…food, service, watching football at the bar…that is until the owner, who isn’t even THERE decided to put the fight on even though literally everyone was watching football!!

Best burgers and salads. Friendly atmosphere. Love the breeze when they have the doors open. During season, November through May, go for lunch but stop by the farmers market (closes at 1) in the same parking lot.

Even if you think you're a foodie or happen to get a less than perfect meal, which we didn't, Fran from Jersey, is a full of energy delight. OMGof all the local restaurants on the north end, venture south and come here first. Pizzas are thin crust and full of flavor (it's not NY style, but don't be a pizza snob). I had fish and chips the 1st time and it was a descent size crispy pice of fish with fresh cut fries. No leftovers.

I have to admit that I am a bit of a food snob, especially on vacation. We landed at The Sandbar and Grille because it was nearly 10 p.m. and almost all the other restaurants were closed and I had given up and let my husband talk me in to stopping there. I had an unusual craving for spaghetti and ordered their Angel Hair Meatballs, my husband ordered the Chicago Beef Sandwich. Both were truly delicious...I loved their basil marinara sauce and he raved about his sandwich! I admit, I wasn't expecting this I made a snap judgement based on the shopping plaza location. The service staff was friendly and welcoming even though we were the only diners there at that hour (other customers were sitting at the bar). We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. A few nights later it was raining and not letting up and I didn't feel like leaving to go to dinner. I never opt for ordering pizza on vacation but we decided to order pizza in... We checked Trip Advisor and called the top rated pizza place but they were already closed. So we saw that The Sandbar and Grille had pizza and delivered so we decided to give it a try based on our meal a few nights before. Wonderful pizza.... so good, in fact, that I let my husband order it again before the week was over! We will return to this restaurant when we come back to Fort Myers Beach in a few months. I've learned my lesson... and will probably even order pizza again one night.! Don't hesitate to give it a try!
