While the French Dip was enjoyable, the French fries were the standout—they were cooked to perfection! I also tried the Butterfly Effect mocktail, which was very tasty. Everyone else in my party seemed to enjoy their meals as well. At the end of our lunch, our waiter discreetly asked if I was okay with my daughter getting the complimentary ice cream sundae that came with her meal. I appreciated that he took a moment to check with me before mentioning it to her, just in case I had any objections. The sundae turned out to be much bigger than I expected, and it was delightful, topped with fudge, whipped cream, and sprinkles!
I ordered the bison meatloaf, which I hadn't had in ages, and it turned out to be fantastic and hearty. There was a mix-up with my side dish at first, but our server quickly corrected it and brought out the right mashed potatoes, which were thick, rich, and wonderful. I even saved some for the next day! I'm so relieved to have had a much more positive dining experience this time around. Thank you!
The French Onion soup was definitely the highlight of the meal! It was so good that I would return just for the soup alone—absolutely delicious! We ordered two steak entrees and opted for mashed potatoes instead of baked potatoes. In hindsight, I wish I had stuck with the baked potato, as the mashed potatoes were a bit lacking in flavor. The New York Strip was perfect! Cooked exactly to order, with crispy edges and tender meat—it was fantastic! On the other hand, the Delmonico Ribeye was recommended by our server as a melt-in-your-mouth tender cut. While it was a good portion and cooked to my liking, I was a bit let down by its lack of flavor. The butter on top and the onion straws were nice additions but didn't quite enhance the steak's taste enough for me. It was good, but I wouldn’t order it again; next time, I’d definitely choose the NY Strip. We finished off with crème brûlée, which had a nicely thick crust and a delicious vanilla bean custard. Overall, it was a much more pleasant experience this time around!
As for the food, it was disappointing yet still okay to eat. We both ordered the prime rib with mashed potatoes, and sadly, everything was served lukewarm. We had been looking forward to this meal, but I have to agree with others who have found it lacking in flavor. Honestly, it was very bland. The au jus helped provide some taste, but even that was just average. While the meat was tender, prime rib should be about more than just tenderness. The mashed potatoes were plain, lacking any noticeable seasoning, and certainly didn't have a hint of garlic. Everything could have used a sprinkle of salt. I’m not one to favor overly salty food; I simply appreciate food with real flavor. Additionally, the knives provided for cutting the prime rib were a bit of a laugh. I struggled to cut through the tender meat with what felt like a diner-style knife, which left my hand cramping. My suggestion would be to enhance the seasoning of the food and invest in some good steak knives; it would significantly improve the overall experience. In summary, it's not a bad place for a quick dinner, but I would recommend seeking better quality elsewhere.
My wife ordered the bison meatloaf and opted to add the cream sauce that typically accompanies the rotisserie sirloin steak, which is what I ordered. The cream sauce is outstanding, so if you choose the meatloaf, I highly recommend requesting the sauce for the rotisserie sirloin steak. The service was great, and the food was excellent. We will definitely be returning!
