Anvil Whiskey - Findlay

This restaurant was charming. We sat on the patio which had shade from the direct sun. Google had said it opens at 7pm on Saturday, but it actually opened at 5pm, so it was a bit challenging to secure one of the three tables on the patio. The service was average, I believe there was only one waitress serving all the tables so she was quite busy. There was live music, which was enjoyable. The food appeared appetizing. We ordered the pizza based on a recommendation, but I wouldn't order it again if I were to return.

The food at the restaurant was excellent, but the service was lacking. When we arrived, we were told there was "no service" that night. This was unusual according to our local family members, but the restaurant was unusually busy (all tables were full after we sat down, with 3 large parties). Despite this, we were not greeted and the staff walked by our table multiple times to deliver food to other tables. The restaurant is quite small, so we expected at least a greeting and an explanation about the lack of service. After waiting for 10 minutes, we went to the bar where we were informed that we had to order all food and drinks from there. It's hard to understand how the staff, who presumably work for tips, expect to earn tips without actually providing any service. Nonetheless, the food was the highlight of the experience, with the pizza and fries being exceptional.

Had our wedding rehearsal dinner here in October, and they did a FANTASTIC job. We had the whole second floor blocked off for a few hours. Dinner was delicious, and they were very easy to work with. Highly recommend!!

I only gave this restaurant 1 star because they had a good selection of bourbon. When I walked in, there was no one there and the bartender was playing very loud rap music, pretty much ignoring me. This is supposed to be a whiskey bar, not a college dance club. It was not a cool experience. If they get a better bartender, maybe I'll consider giving it another try.

Really cool and chill atmosphere. Great place to relax with friends and grab a drink. Limited food menu but really not there for the food. Even more fun when they have live entertainment. Love sitting on the balcony on warm summer nights.
