This restaurant was booked by a friend so I didn't know what to expect. The food was nothing special. Looking at the menu it seemed ok but the execution was below par. I had the dough balls with soft cheese and cured ham. I was expecting the dough balls to have the cheese and ham inside not all as separate items. Maybe the menu should be a little clearer. Next up was picci with caccio pepe. This was done well however the desert was a real let down. It was creme caramel but the eggs had curdled which should have been picked up by who ever made it and not served to customers. The last point regards the smoking areas. As it was windy that evening people were eating on what the waiter called the terrace which has a roof with all three sides closed and the fourth side had a half wall with two open entrances. This meant that there was not sufficient ventilation in my opinion so I when two tables started smoking the smoke came over to us. I pointed this out to the waiter who seemed annoyed that I had brought this up and behind gritted teeth told me that this was a legal smoking area and then walked out. If this was a smoking area he should have pointed this out when we arrived and offered an alternative. But as the restaurant wasn't busy I guess they wanted to put everyone together.
This restaurant is not very easy to find, but offers good food at reasonable price. Portions are not big, as italians usually order two courses (primo and secondo piatto) but you can order only one without any drama at this place.
We stopped here for lunch on a recommendation from a local. And the food didn't disappoint. Good ham/meat starter. Ravioli with artichokes, gnocchi, osso buco for mains. Followed by divine tiramisu, mille feuile with fruit creme Catalan (the local sweet version of creme brûlée). Excellent meal, would highly recommend
