OVERALL STARS: 2/10. Non existent service, no ambiance, lazy presentation and overpriced, poor quality, bland food. So, I would not return and I do not recommend this restaurant to anyone else. Perhaps the Slap Shot side of things is good, but the Nine Dragons side is a lazy disappointment. SERVICE: ZERO STARS. Nine Dragons likes to call itself a restaurant , and indeed it does offer seating, but you seat yourself and order your entire meal at the counter like fast food. Then, the order taker hollers out your number as your cue to come get your food. PRESENTATION: ZERO STARS. You go to the counter and pick up your food and it comes on a brown tray. The food is just piled onto black plastic plates. I split the groups into Appetizer, Entrée, Side, but due to the Fast Food Mentality , it all arrived at once, unlike how it would at a restaurant . I suppose if I wanted more of a restaurant experience, I could have ordered my appetizer first, then the entrées and sides... Silly me. APPETIZER: We ordered crab rangoon and it was good. Not too hard to make, so this was a 10/10 STARS. It was presented in a red/white checked paper tray ala a Mom and Pop KreeMee. The sweet and sour sauce is available in a serve yourself pot with paper cups. It is very thick and somewhat flavorful. ENTREES: My partner ordered Mongolian Beef. There was a large portion, but it was 95% shredded onions and about 5% sliced beef. There was some kind of light, creamy sauce on it. It was unlike any Mongolian Beef we have ever encountered. Basically, it was a flavorless bland, un spicy, no flavor, slimy, soupy plate of $3 worth of shredded onions with very little beef . 0/10 STARS. I ordered the Orange Beef. There was very little citrus flavor. There was a fair amount of soggy, sliced beef with a large quantity of chunks of onion and red pepper in some kind of light, bland, sweet sauce. There was very little heat, no discernible chile pepper flakes, and hardly any citrus flavor. Again, not what I expected for a dish called Orange Beef based on previous experience. 3/10 STARS. SIDE: We shared the Nine Dragons Fried Rice and it was delicious. Nothing you can 't get at any other half way decent Chinese food joint, but compared to the entrees we had, it was a masterpiece. 6/10 STARS. Overall, a really unsatisfying experience for a place calling itself a restaurant and for $46.00. We returned the Mongolian Beef as unacceptable and the clerk said she would inform the kitchen, but couldn 't refund our money.
This is the best Chinese food in the fm area. The menu is huge, so you are sure to find something for everyone! All food is made to order and there is no buffet, which I think is awesome. Whether you want a stir fry dish or a burger, choose nine dragons!
I don't know what the owners were thinking moving this restaurant. It used to be a favorite of mine. It was always busy and had a great atmosphere. Now they have changed it to a very sterile eatery. They are using plastic plates and spoons, no wait staff, no atmosphere at all and to top it off combined it with a pizza place? Big disappointment all around. Noon on a weekday when I visited my friend and I were virtually the only ones there sad, really.
This place was terrible I ordered the kung pao chicken and it looked like soup, if I wanted soup I would have ordered it. And you all are right they don't give you anything for the rice.. chicken huh? What chicken? All I got was soggy soupy vegetables.. thanks a lot!!! Oh yeah and to boot I found a long black hair in my sweet and sour sauce which was a great way to spice up my meal, yes that's exactly what I wanted to dip my eggroll in how did you know!?
