Closing down tonight. Got us good. Absolutely robbed us with full prices for veal that must have been way past its use-by date. Waitress laughed that the kitchen had run out of garlic earlier in the week.
Had a nice walk down to Costa Azzurra to find the pedestrian gate locked. Continued around the corner on the dirt path (no footpath) in the dark under some low hanging trees to enter via the driveway. After being shown to our table we had to track another waitress down to obtain an ice bucket for our wine (BYO) then open and pour it ourselves. We ordered a garlic bread which was a few lovely Ciabatta slices along with the Homemade Ravioli (Pumpkin, Mushroom, Fetta and Creamed Leak) and a Sorrento Pizza (Calabrese Salami, Roast Tomato, Olives, Bocconcini, Garlic and Parmesan).Strangely the pasta was extremely bland with little or no seasoning whatsoever. We had to leave the table to track down 1 of 3 wait staff to obtain salt and pepper as there was none on the tables (as I see mentioned in another review) Even with seasoning the dish was surprisingly bland. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly but sadly the filling and sauce had little to no flavour. The pizza as mentioned above was also a let down. It was not at all appealing to the eye as a good woodfired pizza should be. The 'roast ' tomato was simply diced tomato sprinkled on top creating a very soggy, wet pizza due to having not been de seeded. Some sundried tomatoes may have been a better option. The garlic seemed to be a minced (tinned) garlic and the parmesan seemed to be of the canned variety. Overall not very pleasant to the eye or tastebuds.Upon leaving we were asked how was everything? My response after a long pause was ahh Ok The response from the staff member was (with eyes still on the register That will be $55.50 please I would have thought a response like that would have raised a red flag, but no, our card was swiped and we were sent on our way never to return to the restaurant.Overall a meal that was underwhelming, service that was under par and an experience that has us exploring our local neighbourhood for a warmer more attentive and tasty Italian experience.
Reasonably priced, nice food and friendly. BYO with no corkage! We only had ~45m to eat before a show and they were super quick despite it being a Saturday
Lovely food, as always but a bit noisy for us oldies
