フィードバックを提供するThanks Chris M for your great service as added to our evening. My mom and I ventured in from my place on Columbia for the Tuesday eve Fish n Chips special. Turned out to be a lovely piece of Canadian whitefish nicely cooked and tasty. Served along with broccoli slaw and decent chips. Not always a BC wine go to guy was pleasantly surprised with the Lakeside Sauvignon Blanc from Osoyoos. Really pleased to see that I have had two good experiences on a row in the last months as the Bears Paw has not been know for continuity of anything good. Hoping perhaps they have found their stride and will certainly be back again.
If you 're staying at the Fairmont, the Bear 's Paw bar and grill is likely to become your best friend. Hands down, my absolute favorite was the poutine crispy fries, homemade beef gravy and real melty cheese curds. It was so amazing that I ordered it two days in a row. It 's a hearty dish best enjoyed after a long day on the slopes. I made a dinner out of it, combined with a small order of the resort salad ? I think that 's what it was called) generous portion of mixed greens with goat cheese, candied pecans and a spicy dressing. Spectacular. If available, I 'd also recommend the chicken curry over rice. It was on the menu as a Saturday night special , so it might not be available all the time. The char grilled chicken breast was accented nicely by a mild yellow curry sauce, and topped with mini rounds of naan bread. Bear 's Paw has a good selection of Canadian beers, which I 'm normally really into, but I didn 't care for most of their selections. The Stanley Park brews were particularly disappointing. My favorite was the Sleeman 's Original from Ontario. There 's also a full bar where you 'll meet lots of friendly, tipsy Canadians on vacation. Overall, great experience!
Service was extremely slow with hardly any customers ~45 minutes) and our server didn't care at all about our table. My meal was over-cooked, as well 2 of the meals ordered chicken tenders) were completely burnt. Lacked good service to boot.
1st night the guy who helped us was amazing, he worked the whole restaurant by himself. He was attentive kind and made sure everyone had food and drinks. Second night there was 4 ladies working who failed to even so much as offer us a drink and took half an hour to finally ask what we wanted to order. They stood around and talked. We had to get our own cutlery and napkins and condiments, asking for a drink seemed to be to much for them as we had to continuously ask for a refill of water. This would be understandable in a busy bar but the bar wasn't even at half capacity. First server on the first night is the only reason I would come back. The food was great though.
We stayed at Fairmont Hot Springs and so we ate here several times. The food was good with a decent variety. Our favorite was the Poutine fries!! (they may not sound good...but yum! The service was not great...but the food was good and the atmosphere was good.
