Not the best BBQ I have ever eaten, but prices were reasonable for Alaska and everyone was sated at the end of the evening!
It's About Time!!. Been visiting Fairbanks for 8 years and have had many bad food experiences but on my latest trip I was told about Tubby's. I was looking for a good sportsbar with decent food, nice tv's and a competent wait staff. I found all and more at Tubby's. The food was great, with thick juicy burgers, great wings and a great selection of beer. The TV's were all modern and placed strategically around the bar. They'll even turn them up so you can hear them which is rarely the case in other places. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive a rarity in Fairbanks) and the owner was always in the immediate vicinity keeping an eye on things. My co-workers and I visited several times and look forward to going again.
Overall Vibe. Tubby's is located within the Regency Fairbanks Hotel. My husband ate there with family and friends one evening after a trip to Chena Hot Springs. My husband commented that the food was great the barbecue sauce was much better than another popular barbecue restaurant in town. I'm vegetarian and the waitstaff was very accommodating to my requests for the way my food was prepared. My nephew mentioned the waitstaff was very helpful (attentive) and made the restaurant a good place to eat. I liked the hockey jerseys around the place. It's clean when the owner, Ryan, is around the place lights up in feel as he is very attentive to every customer as he runs around taking care of things visiting with other hockey fans when he can.I also liked the hockey puck special advertising holders on the table. Cool place to go solo or with family.
Great great great wings!!! Pork sandwich leaves something to be desired but the Mexican nachos were huge and filling!! Totally recommend.
Best wings in town! Great little restaurant with a lot of hockey memorabilia around. These guys support the local teams too, especially the Ice Dogs. Not too fond of the conjoining bar, but a good joint for some tasty food. I do wish that they used fresher meat, but it's a fairly cheap lunch and you can't go wrong.
