フィードバックを提供するI came to late lunch at 2 o'clock. two young at the bar, I have one standing for me. fast eating, quick reaction service. good jukebox music. I ordered the 1/2 rack st louis ripen and got a sweet tee they brew themselves. mature fall from the bone, many sauces, from which to choose. will I be obsessed with these ripenings and tell everyone that I am concerned with the changes in life? No. (Update I still think about how good they were, days later. but I come back for the over all atmosphere (nice and warm, the great service and a real curiosity about the other elements on the menu? yes, and the sweet tee. yes, this place deserves many more visits, especially in these cold winter months.
It's barbecue. The food was decent, but nothing to write home about. I didn't find any of the sauces particularly impressive, but the beans were tasty. Beans over pulled pork was probably my favorite from the combo platter. We didn't have any other barbecue in Alaska, so perhaps the remarkable reviews are in consideration of the level of competition around, but as visitors, it was pretty unremarkable. The service was pleasant and friendly though, so no complaints there!
The dining experience was average overall, but the atmosphere was enjoyable. The pork was delicious and definitely a highlight. The sausage, while acceptable, was a bit too fatty for my liking—I prefer a leaner option. Unfortunately, the ribs lacked flavor since they weren't served with BBQ sauce. The fried mushroom appetizer was overpriced and quite bland as well. The side dishes, creamy corn and collard greens, were decent. In summary, while the meal wasn't particularly satisfying, it was still acceptable.
We stopped in for an afternoon visit and found a beautiful, spacious restaurant! The bar area was lovely as well. Being from Texas, we're always on the lookout for good barbecue, and we definitely found it at Big Daddy's. I ordered the St. Louis-style ribs, which were very tender! I prefer to add sauce to my ribs so they can be smoked with it, and there were several sauce options to choose from, which was fantastic! The mac and cheese was spot on, and the hushpuppies were delicious. Steve had a brisket sandwich, which came without a side, but that was fine since there was more than enough on the sandwich itself. Of course, everyone has their own tastes and preferences. The service was excellent too—if you're not satisfied with your meal, just ask for something else!
The service was excellent, especially given how busy they were. The food was enjoyable, though not extraordinary. The ribs were a bit tough, but the pulled pork was fantastic. All the sides, especially the mac and cheese, were great. My only complaint was about the sauces.
