Firkin Tavern - Ewing

I want to express my gratitude to Bryan and the entire staff for welcoming everyone during the US World Championships on Saturday. We arrived at 9:45, and the service was exceptional. The atmosphere was perfect for watching a World Cup game. Every guest received a complimentary koozie, and their breakfast specialties were outstanding. Overall, this place is fantastic, and the staff is truly unmatched. Firkin is the best in Mercer County!

I can't express how much I adore this place! I've never had a meal here that I didn't enjoy. It’s one of my favorite spots for delicious food at a great price. The portion sizes are generous, so you definitely won’t leave feeling hungry.

Wonderful Irish pub! They have an fantastic selection of beers, friendly staff, and AMAZING food. I ordered a burger topped with Swiss cheese, mushrooms, and crispy onion straws. It was perfectly cooked, juicy, and absolutely delicious. The burger came with large, crispy fries that were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I was with two friends; one had the Ultimate Bacon Burger, piled high with bacon, while the other tried the Bang Bang Shrimp. Both said their meals were fantastic. I definitely plan to go back!

So disgusting with Firkin Tavern by Ewing! I ordered some Kimchiries last night, but I was too sleepy to eat. I decided to take her to dinner tonight. I opened my frits and poured them on a plate to heat them up and EXTREMELY was spilled out by the extra ingredients in my meal! Not only did I find hair on the bottom of my container, but I always found hair melted in my frits! I was very upset. That's not okay and a waste of my $14 plus tax. I don't think I'm back to Firkin. The staff was nice, but clearly they can use some additional cleaning capabilities in the kitchen area: I assume someone doesn't wear a hair net when he prepares my food. I can only imagine how many more were in my food?.

To start off, the food here is insanely good and the beer selection is quite long. I've mostly sampled the sandwiches (Nashville hot chicken and a couple burgers) and everything was cooked incredibly well. Chicken was super juicy, the sauce was intensely flavorful, and it was still short enough to eat without a fork. Couple that with a side of beautifully cooked fries and you've got yourself a winner. I'd be pretty confident ordering any pub classic here. The ambience is the only reason this gets 4 stars not 5. The service is quick and efficient, but I wouldn't call it friendly. Add in a blue lives matter flag (I'm looking for a good beer not a political statement) and you've got the Firkin tavern. In summary, excellent food and beer with a rough-around-the-edges interior.
