Barrel Republic Carlsbad - Escondido

Love me some Barrel Republic. We frequent the Escondido location to watch Monday night football and enjoy their $7 burger special, which is incredible. So juicy, perfect bun, blew my mind the first time I tried it. The only menu item I've had that was less than spectacular were the chicken tacos. Barrell Republic's claim to fame is their self serve taps. You're given a wristband and allowed to pour to your heart's content from their wide variety of craft beer, wine, cider,hard seltzer, kombucha, they even have tea. The taps track how many ounces of each drink you pour and they're added to your tab. It's a great time trying all the different brews and getting refills without having to wait. The staff here isconsistently friendly and helpful, overall atmosphere is great. Thank you Barrell Republic!

The atmosphere was good, an overall fun place, but their check system could use a little work. There were two groups (5 people total) and we gave separate cards to avoid having to split bills later. The food for both parties was put on the same tab, even though we gave our names. When I pointed this out, I was told by the cashier he 'd have to get the manager and, it might be awhile. The attitude was a bit of a bummer, or I 'd have given 5 stars.

I am foodie enough to tell the difference between cured meats that have not been sitting out vs ones that have been sitting out. The Cheese on the meat cheese board had dried edges that were darker in color.. you know like when Hard cheddar cheese sits out too long.? The salad they served was also stale and the lettuce discolored as if from a few days ago. Not the type to b and whine in the restaurant. But i guess the type to write a review to warn others that this establishment will serve less than fresh food knowingly just because its game night and it is busy. I was not expecting a 5 star meal at a bar but wasn't expecting to be straight served stale food.

Great food and great service! We didn't try any of the beers. The hamburger was amazing and so were the fried pickles. We'll be going back
