MEKONG Vietnam Restaurant - Erlangen

I visit this restaurant at least two or three times every time I come to Erlangen. The food is delicious. The wonton soup is the best I have ever had. The restaurant is known for its duck but not being a fan of duck I always choose any of the fried chicken dishes and I am never disappointed. The highlight of every visit to Mekong is the Vietnamese coffee at the end of the meal. The strong flavour of the coffee mixed with the sweetness of the condensed milk is amazing. I normally have 2-3 coffees each visit. It is that good. The service has always been friendly and the prices are reasonable for the area. I would rate Mekong as the best Asian cuisine in Erlangen.

Very fresh well cooked duck dish. Kind servers everything was fine ! For my taste the gravy was bit too sweet. But except that everything was fine!

Its a small place but the beer garden/little outdoor terrace looks very authentic styled taking me back to an asian holiday without all the fake decoration. Food was totally delicous. Will come back!

Small place, food was not wow but service is not good. Waitress had literally no time to take order or give bill, she kept rushing and we ended up eating something we did not want to because we ordered in rush. Waitress could not even speak English, that was adding on to the whole mess. I could see quiet few of other customers were not comfortable.

The place is a little small but manages to take care of a decent size of guests. However, we were not so impressed with the food. We ordered the Mittag Essen which had a selection of 10-15 dishes.The Chicken with soya was good, but the traditional red coconut curry chicken sweet, which is just how it shouldn't be! The service was fast and the pricing was reasonable.
