I 've only came to McFaddens for drinks. My friends and I decided to visit McFaddens because we wanted some cheap drinks. Plus, Blue Martini 's theme that night was so-so for us. Whenver McFadden isn 't having an event, you can definitely tell because it is pretty empty in there. When we were there, we decided to put our names on their list. Their list is part of their promos .. when you get chosen, you get to have open bar from 9 pm to 11 pm on a Saturday night. What about your friends? They get 50% off! I remember a few years ago, when they ran this promotion, it was a whole lot better. McFadden used to be the place to go on Saturdays. Now? Not so much. Surprisingly, I got chosen for open bar one Saturday so my friends and I decided to go. Open bar means: you get a different colored wrist band and you get a plastic cup. Your drink can only go into that plastic cup. That cup is meant to be re-used .. that way, they can control the open bar aspect of it. Is this hygienic? I 'm not so sure. I 'm pretty sure that 's against health code. Anyways, open bar events are cool. Other than that, eh. It 's whatever.
I went to the restroom and got kicked out for being too drunk. I proceeded to wait 45 min for my friend who was drunker than me and asked multiple security guards to grab this friend. They threatened to call the cops and I advised them to do so as I wasn 't drunk but merely a big guy. Ultimately my friend left me with me and no police were called.
McFadden's is an Irish pub located between two of Town Square's more popular bars Yard House and Blue Martini. It is a hit or miss kind of place. When it's a hit it's packed. There's people inside and outside. Their food like their burgers and chicken wings look and taste good. They utilize the entire establishment, the various bars and dining areas, beer pong. There's a DJ or two and girls on top the bar counters. Service is excellent, fast, and their happy to serve you. The environment is so good that when your party wants to leave you stay after saying goodbye to them. Of course this has to be only when there's an event or something because I've also been here when a lot of what seemed good above weren't. The burgers seemed smaller and a mess, wings were kind of tiny and overcooked. They would take forever to bring food and drinks. Some of employees seemed like they didn't want to be there or if we asked them for something we were bothering them. Occasionally it would be so dead that you want to leave before happy hour is over. The inconsistency just kills me I'll write this place off then I'll have a really good experience, come back then get another bad experience. I'll be back, have been, so hopefully next time it'll be a good one.
Zero Stars. DO NOT GO HERE OR ANY OTHER LOCATION. I was here last night 2/5/2022 with a group of friends. My boyfriend and I got there first so we decided to head in and get a table. Mind you, we 've never been here before. So we walk up, no line and security checks and scans our IDs and then we are fully patted down and my purse was checked. My boyfriend was wearing a beanie and they told him he had to take it off. Ok a bit much for a bar but I get it. We walk in it 's super loud, the host isn 't wearing a mask, and she says it 's $10 for guys and free for girls if we follow them on Instagram. So obviously I follow them. But when we try to pay they say it 's cash only. Luckily I had a $20 on me so we were allowed in. Upon entry I see a sign that says seat yourself . So we go to find a table that can accommodate ourselves plus the 6 that will be joining us. We 're sitting for about 10 minutes and no one comes to see us, so my boyfriend goes to the bar while I stay at the table. Two drinks were $28, they were decent sized, but still a bit pricey considering the $10 to get in. This is where **** goes south: My friend didn 't have her ID on her but had a paper document equivalent, security said it would be $60 TO ENTER. PLUS ENTRY FREE. They didn 't mention following Instagram to her so she had to pay $70 JUST TO GET IN. I wish she told me but we all made it inside and sat down noticeably upset. We got another round of drinks and then Secirty came over and told us we had to move to a booth because the table we were at was reserved?? But when we walked in it said seat yourself and there wasn 't a reserved sign on the table?? We moved anyway, but the booth didn 't accommodate all of us, so 2 of us had to stand! And we were right where people are passing by so we had to constantly move out of the way. We were trying to humor the situation at that point, so we decided to stay an hour and then leave. The only good thing was the music, but it was so loud that we couldn 't have a conversation. My voice is shot from screaming trying to talk. Moral of story: THIS. PLACE. SUCKS. I don 't know how they can be in Town Square and treat people that way. It seems like a bunch of con artists to me especially after reading other negative reviews where prices are different and people continue to feel disrespected. I don 't really write reviews but I was very compelled this time, and hopefully it will stop other people from getting ripped off and irritated. McFaddens can consider themselves formally BLOCKED.
