Georges Fish - Enfield

Absolutely amazing Fish and Chips. Cooked fresh by Kaya (apologies if I have spelt it incorrectly) Super friendly staff and spotlessly clean restaurant and take away area.

I wrote a review recently for what I thought was this establishment but didn 't realise it was for nearby George 's Fish Chips (which I 'm sure is good) rather than the 'Original ' Georges I intended to review. So I will repeat my review for the correct shop. I have been a customer of George 's for many years and have never been disappointed. Fish always great and good portions of chips.

Just ate at this place and must admit the food was excellent and service satisfactory. We chose Georges because we had previously eaten here, and we preferred a cheaper alternative to some of the more expensive nearby restaurants. We thought, you can't really go wrong with Fish and Chips. We both had large Cod and Chips and a soft drink and ate in. The food was excellent and plentiful, and we were extremely happy with our choice until we came to pay the bill. I probably should have checked the prices before ordering and expected to pay slightly more than usual in view of the current economic climate, but i was flabbergasted when i was informed that the bill had come to £32! FOR FISH AND CHIPS! I have checked with other local chips shops, and they are not charging anywhere near the same so will definitely avoid until they drop their prices a bit.

Nice man behind counter asked where my wife was. i told him she was poorly and was not eating, he asked me to get her on the phone and proceeded to tell her that she should eat something, he made my wife a salad and put cod and chips in my bag and did not charge me for my wife's food, many thanks for your kind actions.

I spent 40 minutes waiting for a piece of cod and gave up and left empty handed. They only seemed interested in for filling the delivery orders. They don’t appear to care if you’re standing in the shop waiting. For that reason I will never visit them again. Which is a shame as the food is usually delicious.
