Cell Block Steak House - Ely

Unbelievable Steak dinner! The service was excellent. And the atmosphere is fun, but elegant at the same time.

Fantastic food and an amazing atmosphere! I took my family of four to this restaurant after arriving in Ely late at night. Even though it was a Friday, we only had to wait about 15 minutes. The prison cell theme is really cool, and those who criticize its authenticity clearly didn’t read the back of the menu. Our waitress was very friendly and made sure to check on us often. I ordered the Ribeye steak cooked medium, along with a stuffed potato and a house salad. My wife decided on the filet mignon, stuffed potato, and house salad as well. Her steak was one of the best I've had in a long time! Both steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned. The asparagus was tender and not overcooked, which I appreciated. The stuffed potato was decent, but I think I’ll opt for a baked potato next time; it wasn’t bad, just not what I expected. The beans were delicious, and I loved the bacon pieces and spices they used. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but that’s to be expected at a steakhouse. I would definitely recommend this place!

We had a great time at the restaurant! The steak dinners we ordered were excellent. Although the servers were quite busy, we still felt well taken care of.

I visited Ely a few times last year, and this was the first time I tried the Cell Block. I had a delicious ribeye steak! It’s a great spot. However, I’m disappointed to see they’re closed on Mondays and Tuesdays during the winter.
