Coleman's Bbq Elgin

I cannot recommend this restaurant at all. The service was extremely poor, and several items I wanted were unavailable, as usual for a place that seems to struggle with managing their inventory. The woman at the counter was not friendly and made me feel like I was a nuisance. With over 20 years in the restaurant industry, I've never experienced such treatment. The owner should take a moment to reflect on the direction of their business. I would prefer not to give a one-star review, but it seems I have no choice.

I appreciate that this is a Black-owned restaurant, and it pains me to leave a negative review, but I feel I must be honest. This particular location in Elgin needs to improve. The customer service is unprofessional, and my children and I have been disappointed with their turkey tips on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We loved the ones from their Chicago location, but every time we order, they are either tough or dry. After taking a break from ordering for a couple of months, I decided to give them another chance. While the tips were tender this time, they were still dry, despite my request for extra sauce. When I called the restaurant to share my feedback, the young lady I spoke with was unprofessional as well.

The best catfish I've ever had! I haven't tried much else because I believe in sticking with what I love. I often order two large catfish meals for myself and then retreat for a couple of days, guarding my delicious haul from my family. It's just that good! Be sure to get mild and hot sauce on the side—it's a must!

If you’ve been to the OG Coleman’s then you know they skimpy on the sauce.This location gave me so much sauce I could drown in it, DROWN IN IT! 5/5 Would recommend.Do no ask for EXTRA sauce, the amount they give is plenty compared to the OG location.
