Pier 76 Fish Grill - El Segundo

If you're craving delicious seafood, Pier 76 Fish Grill is the place to be! It's not just the quality of the fish that stands out, but the unique ways they prepare it. Gone are the usual standard sides; instead, the Brussels sprouts and kale are absolutely fantastic! I tried the charred shrimp with hummus, and it was incredible. I had visited their Long Beach location some time ago but wasn't impressed then. However, they've clearly made some changes that have paid off. My wife ordered the sea bass, and if she thinks it's good, trust me, it really is! She's one of the pickiest eaters I know, and nothing escapes her discerning palate. The restaurant is extremely clean, and the staff are wonderful. I truly hope it stays this way. Often, after a great first visit, subsequent trips can disappoint, making you regret that 5-star rating. Here’s hoping it continues to impress! Creative ideas are always welcome!

I would not recommend visiting this restaurant again for several reasons. While the food wasn't bad, I don't see myself returning anytime soon. The service was attentive, but rather curt. When I asked about the type of fish in the grilled fish sandwich, the response was unclear even after I asked for clarification. I initially thought I heard "soy," which made no sense, and she insisted that wasn't it. In retrospect, I believe she meant "swai," which I would have chosen to avoid due to its low quality and generally negative reviews. Additionally, the restaurant could use a good cleaning; there were food remnants on the table sign, trash on the floor, and I saw two tables cleared without being wiped down. Overall, this experience was disappointing, and I cannot recommend this restaurant.

Pier 76 is a great place to grab lunch. The line was out the door, but it moved very quickly. The food also arrived very quickly after ordering and paying at the front counter. My office is in the area and I was able to conveniently walk over with a colleague. I had the Poke Bowl. It was a very simple meal, but quite delicious. It didn't have all the different items a typical poke restaurant would have, but it was good. Service was very fast. My colleague had the Fish &Chips and that arrived shortly after mine did. Impressive, as mine was served cold and his was freshly fried.

New location just opened in Long Beach! This spot is a bit larger and offers beer. The place is clean and well-maintained. The food is incredibly delicious, with a menu that is simple and appealing. The fish is fresh and expertly prepared. However, parking can be a nightmare, so it’s best to take an Uber. It’s a fantastic location, perfect for a date night or family outing. They even have an alfresco dining experience on the patio. The table service is semi-automatic, which can be a bit confusing when it comes to tipping, as there are several staff members involved in serving and delivering food to the table. Overall, a great experience!

I forgot to take pictures of the wild cod fish and chips and the grilled yellowtail with gumbo sauce, but both dishes were excellent with really fresh fish! The restaurant is quite spacious and offers a great variety of dishes. The service was also outstanding!
