They really need to either update their closing time or lock the door and turn off their sign to prevent customers from coming in. It was quite rude!
The service was terrible. As soon as we arrived, we greeted Mateo, but his response was dismissive, almost as if he was saying, "Don't bother me." He was wearing flip-flops and the restaurant itself was dirty. The refrigerator outside the kitchen entrance was completely disgusting and definitely needs to be cleaned. The pupusas were decent, but nothing special; I know several other places that are far superior. To make matters worse, our order was incomplete. When it was ready, Mateo casually told us that everything was there, but it wasn’t. The lack of professionalism was frustrating. When I reached out to him to ask about the missing items, he told me not to worry and that I could come back any time to pick up my tamal. There were no apologies or any attempt to make it right. It's disheartening to see how places like this can falter despite the hard work that goes into starting them. For all these reasons, we won’t be returning to this grease pit.
I finally tried a new restaurant, and my experience was a mixed bag. The customer service was lacking, which was disappointing. I ordered the basic California Burrito, and while it wasn't bad and actually tasted quite good, I found it unusual that the hot sauce smelled like coffee. That was odd, and I wasn’t sure what to make of it. I initially thought this place had potential since my stomach felt fine afterward. However, come 1 AM, I experienced a sudden case of diarrhea. This leads me to believe there might be an issue with either their food or the hot sauce I had at 4 PM. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning for another meal.
This was my first experience trying pupusas, and I really enjoyed the first one! It had a perfect balance of cheese, beans, pork, and masa. However, the second pupusa was quite disappointing as it tasted like styrofoam, likely because it had stuck to the container. I would suggest avoiding this restaurant until they improve their packaging, which is a shame because the food is otherwise tasty.
