I opted for the 'Fill' option and later noticed some unexpected charges on our bank statement. After seeking clarification from the hotel manager, I learned that the initial charge was for the estimated cost of a full tank, with an additional charge for the actual fuel pumped. I was assured that the 'fill limit' charge would be refunded within a few days, but unfortunately, this did not happen. Despite reaching out to N1 with supporting documentation, we have yet to receive a response or reimbursement after several weeks.
N1 in Egilsstaðir is a typical Icelandic roadside stop that offers a gas station, convenience store, and restaurant all in one. The convenience store sells sandwiches and snacks, while the restaurant counter serves hot dogs. The popular Icelandic dish "pylsa með öllu" or "hot dog with everything" is a must-try for meat-eating tourists looking for a quick and affordable meal on the go. The restaurant is casual, kid-friendly, and offers a variety of options like burgers, fries, pizzas, chicken, and more at reasonable prices (by Icelandic standards).
I visited the restaurant to inquire about gas. An older woman assisted me, and instead of providing a brief response, she seemed to make an extra effort to be rude, which made me feel foolish. However, the young staff members were very pleasant.
Eating hot dogs at the N1 gas stations across Iceland was great, always friendly service always nice hot dogs. It was a convenient meal stop in Iceland where ever you were.
I had an excellent burger at this restaurant. Kudos to the chef. March 2022.
