Jj’s Diner - EGG HARBOR

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. It was cleaner and nicer than I expected from the outside. The food was decent, with the eggs and sausage gravy being just okay, earning 3 stars. The eggs had a strange taste. The French onion soup was not great, receiving 2 stars. However, the burger was delicious and juicy, deserving 4 stars. The service was alright, although it took a long time to pay and leave, but the food arrived promptly. I am interested in trying their Sunday special, the Chicken and Waffles, as I have heard they are very good.

I took my break late at 3:47 and realized that the burger I had just taken a bite of was not what I had intended when I ordered a Mexican burger. Knowing that the restaurant closes at 4:00pm, I called to see if I could get a well-done burger the following day. The lady on the phone asked me to bring the burger back the next day, which I found to be unethical and unsanitary for a food business. The workers were very unprofessional. Instead of bringing the same burger back for the chef to recook, I decided to return it and request a refund. I was not given a full refund and was shorted some change. It seems that the supervisor or manager chose pettiness over professionalism and customer satisfaction.

Overall, the experience was not too bad. The grits and corned beef hash were delicious, as was the sausage gravy. However, the biscuits were extremely hard and the potatoes were not good. I ordered my eggs scrambled well-done, but they were still runny in the middle. The service was good, but the prices were very high. I was surprised to learn there was an extra charge for takeout, which I would have appreciated knowing beforehand. This restaurant is quite pricey.

JJ Diner is a Super nice place!! Carol assisted us and was very good,.. super friendly, polite and professional made me feel welcome. Food was tasty and very big portions. Definitely will come back,.. A

The food was really good, it was fresh and hot the grits was nice an thick and creamy... when ever in the AC area please check out this spot... Our waitress was a young lady named Mia she was very pleasant and attentive to our needs. ????????
