First I am sorry to publish this review, but I was very disappointed by this restaurant over all and felt that others should know. we were part of a senior group tcrcc (swesa), who often have lunch sessions tried to support different places for local unique foods. our recent visit to them after $450. totally left a bad taste that will not be removed for a past, if at all. we reserved ourselves well in advance of 1 week and when we arrived, we were told that they had a selection of 3 items we had all to agree from the full list menu. for a group of 18 people this was very bizarre or if there was a lack of food, we should have been informed beforehand. they could have printed a limited selection menu on paper so there was less confusion for employees and males. the entire meal took too long to prepare, as there were few workers in the facility. what waited after a full 1 hour was also disappointing the goulash, which in the rule is a thick one-pot consistency was more of a few carving a few vegetables in a small bowl. the buns were good, but the buns turns out to be a basic green garden salad with a few grape tomatoes, a very sadly pathetic. the pork schnitzel was thin and crispy with good taste, but took very long time to get to the table (I think they had to catch the pigeon first), but it was also the lonely highlight of the visit. the menu shown on the website was irrigated, as many in our group saw a special one that was not present when we arrived. we were told that this came from a menu from 2020 that no longer existed, please update their lists. there were also zero gluten free items available, but on the website said there were gluten-free items available. Apart from a small side salad and a bowl of fore mentioned goulash, our two zöliakie seniors fought to find everything they could consume without being sick. in this day and age there is no excuse for the over. we were willing to give them a chance to impress us for a future visit, but we have left totally frustration and disappointment of our visit. other reviews that we have seen have not reflected our experience, but perhaps there was a change in the property or the administration that led to the bad result that we had. the service was pleasant from the two servers that waited during preparation of eating. a total of an experience showing a lack of willingness, which is exclusive due to inability or indifference, both of which will eventually destroy their business.
That was my first experience in an authentic German restaurant. I didn't know what to expect, but I'm always an adventure. the restaurant was far beyond the expectations that eating was amazing, and the service was the best I had in Canada.
This place is gone, would never have thought. the eating was super weiner carving was excellent her stew is excellent. it was a pleasant atmosphere. the personal is very friendly warm. comfortable setting. they should check it.
Being a German girl that was taught to cook authentic German food I was excited to try this restaurant because of its good reviews. Unfortunately it was a disappointing experience. It wasn’t all bad, But bad enough that I couldn’t go higher than a two.Service was okay a pleasant enough young man. However when he took my basically untouched final plate, he didn’t think to inquire if something was wrong.Timeliness it was a fair wait, but with high expectations we prepared to wait.Food.Bread basket nothing special just a basic Kaiser type bun.Soups Husband had the goulash, this was very tasty. I had the liver dumpling soup. Now since this one item was something new to me I have nothing to compare it to but the broth was salty and heavy on the pepper, dumpling was pretty solid but maybe that is how it is supposed to be.Salad This lovely trio was the star of the meal. Light and fresh flavours.Main I had the Wienerschnitzel with the dumpling. ? The deep fried schnitzel was tough and flavourless. The dumpling was the biggest disappointment just a ball of squished bread over seasoned with Thyme and nothing else. The gravy was bland and tasted like it only had pepper in it. The carrots were good I ate two of those. My husband had Jagerschnitzel which is basically the same dish just with mushrooms and pork instead of veal. Same critique there. The presentation was lovely it is just unfortunate the taste did not match.I was so disappointed I would not try the strudel for fear of another let down.I would not agree that this is authentic German food. Some willSay why didn’t you say something. Well the restaurant was full and with the tables quite close I didn’t want to risk having others question their choice to be there. For the price I will not be returning
