The food was once again delicious, with generous portions of lovely vegetables served in serving dishes for us to help ourselves. The young waiting staff, who seem to be 6th form students, were efficient, friendly, and a great asset to the business. The Manager/Owner was also serving in the dining room. We have dined at The Brantwood Hotel many times and have never been disappointed. We highly recommend this restaurant.
2 nights stay, hotel accommodation excellent. Had both breakfast and dinner, food and service very good. Small but very comfortable bar area, with friendly efficient staff offering a good selection of beers and a large selection of gins and whiskies. Great location for access to North Lakes.
This was a stop made to slove an eating break after a busy day. Not been before, but it was convenient. Yes, would go again anytime. Food was lovely, something on the menu to suit all tastes, lots of GF options (not an issue for me, but would be for others), and well looked after by lovely staff. So. ... What more do you want me to say? I know. .... Do go!
We had a lovely meal here this evening, my son had the ribs which he declared were ‘banging’. My husband had the half roast chicken with the plate to start, both courses were lovely, I had the homemade steak pie on the recommendation of the host which was a great decision. We ordered the sherry trifle and the chocolate pot for dessert, unfortunately the trifle was not very good and seemed to be a half portion. When we mentioned this to the gentleman on settling our bill, he immediately amended the price charged and then went to the kitchen and brought us a portion of trifle to try at home. The portion we took home was perfect, tasted of sherry and was a good size. On reflection we think that possible the waiter brought my husband a small portion of summer pudding as there was no custard on it at all. The prompt correction of the dessert to take home was brilliant, overall customer service was just lovely, very welcoming and hospitable. Thank you for a lovely evening (the wine was really good too
We were a family group of 6 who had Sunday lunch recently. We have eaten here on many occasions and have found the food to be delicious and generous portions. The serving staff appear to be students; they were efficient, friendly and attentive which was great. Just a couple of observations, the hotel is quite traditional in its style which I love, but I do feel the conservatory needs an update. The cushions on some of the chairs have totally lost their padding so you could feel the base of the chair while sitting on it. One of the little tables wobbled so much that you put your drink on the table it was likely to tip over, we managed to find something to prop the table to prevent our drinks from tipping over. The flooring looks dated and this area could be updated inexpensively. The majority of our group had roast beef which was delicious, with lots of fresh vegetables, the portion sides were generous. A couple of the group ordered sticky toffee pudding but when it came it didn’t look like any sticky pudding we had ever tasted before, it was more like 2 slices of fruit cake, (it was served with ice cream). However I did eat it and it was nice but it tasted like fruit cake not sticky toffee pudding. This was a minor blip, all the other desserts my family had looked great and tasted great too. I would recommend the restaurant and I am sure we will return for lunch when we are next visiting the area.
