I noticed the new sign outside that read DeAngelo and Pesce, but we went in anyway, hoping for the best. Unfortunately, the new owners didn't meet our expectations, and, of course, the prices had gone up. My usual sub, which used to cost $7.50, is now over $10, and it comes with half the meat and lower-quality cold cuts. The pizza was lukewarm and not very impressive. We also picked up a lobster tail pastry from the display case, and it was stale. While we waited for our food, we witnessed the owner yelling at, belittling, and degrading his staff right in front of us. His rudeness was absurd. Needless to say, I won’t be coming back. Looks like I’ll have to find a new favorite spot...
I don't know who's in the kitchen now, but the food truly isn’t good. The wings I had today were extremely bland—no salt, just tasted like boiled chicken, yuck! The burger was tiny and dry; I had to really look for the meat. My mom’s lunch special was so small that she finished it in just two bites. The pizza was okay but again, nothing memorable—barely any flavor! Let’s turn this around and make this my go-to spot for great Italian food again. If you just added a bit more salt, some garlic, more seasoning, and perhaps a touch of care, I would definitely be ordering from you every day and you would be just fine. Thank you!
UPDATE: Warning, New Owners Bad Food See my new REVIEW in the comments below. This used to be a great place with great food. No more. Sad. This right below was my ORIGINAL REVIEW. Scroll down to the COMMENTS section to read my revised, full update. Amazing! An absolutely amazing authentic Italian delicatessen and pizzeria right in our own backyard. Pizzuto is incredible. Ordered delivery, two sandwiches: a Muffulata and a Prosciutto, Asiago Cheese with Sun Dried Tomatoes. They were awesome! Stacked with meats and cheeses, both sandwiches came on fresh, crunchy Italian bread that touches the right gustatory note. And, the Muffulata, topped with a delicious, house made olive salad, was epic. Truly reminiscent of New Orlean 's legendary Muffulata sandwich of Central Grocery fame, THIS version doesn 't imitate but delivers just as awesome and tasty an impact to the diner. If this place hasn 't come across your radar for local but authentic, freshly made Italian food, you need to check 'em out. At long last, a local source for good Italian deli food, I 'm a convert to Pizzuto. I 'll be ordering from here regularly!
