Fabulously friendly, service was fun, casual charming by both the owner young girl. Lovely spot for a pot of Yorkshire Tea, while catching up with an old friend her 6 week old baby. The minister is just a few steps across the road. Thank you

Lovely lunch with friends. Chicken Tikka and Tomato, Basil Mozarella paninis. Delicious! Warm and cosy ambience. Immaculate Ladies room with fresh flowers. Very attentive staff. Thank you!

Excellent! Took my mum for a spot of birthday lunch. The place was absolutely spotless with fresh flowers dotted about (always a good sign), even in the Ladies! Very warm and cosy on a very cold day. We had lots of Yorkshire tea with a large pot of extra water, jacket potato (one loaded with cheese and the other with lots of peeled prawns) together with a side salad with a lovely sweet chilli sauce. We had plenty of time to chat and followed this with a delicious coffee and walnut cake and frothy cappucino delicious! A lovely lunch made even nicer by the fact that the cake was complimentary as it was my mum's birthday so thank you to Gary and the sweet, attentive waitresses who served us.

Seven of us went in for tea and cake. The young staff were pleasant and helpful. When the bill arrived, it wasn 't itemised: just a notepad page with a total beside. I went up to the kitchen door and queried the total. The owner replied Well, we 're not trying to rob you. A waitress handed me a menu so I could check the total. I did, and it seemed about £4 too much, so I repeated that I could not see how our items came to the total stated. When I started to list the items, I stumbled over whether how many drinks had been teas and how many coffees. Owner Well, you don 't know what you 've had then . I said I was certain the total was wrong, and a waitress offered to total it again. She then agreed the bill was £4 too high, and they must have included one cake too many. We paid the bill with a generous tip for the staff. Two minutes later we were getting up to leave. The owner came over and asked if all was now okay. I replied that someone could 've said 'sorry '. Owner: Huh, there 's always one int there . 'Excuse me, but the bill was too high, and it was corrected, but we are due an apology. ' Owner: Look, I own this place, and the customer is NOT always right. 'I agree, but in this case we were right, so shouldn 't you just say sorry. ' He cleared plates and ignored us. Sadly, being close to the Minster, this ignorant man might manage without repeat custom. He won 't get it from us.

Very good location hard by the Minster . However when we asked about soup the waitress said “ it hasn’t been delivered yet, it is on order!!!”, we then then asked for a chicken and bacon salad she apologised that it wasn’t available , we then said well we would have chicken tikka massala, she came back from the kitchen to say there was no chicken . This was at 12pm on a Saturday! We drank the teas we had already ordered and paid the exorbitant £7 and left looking for a cafe that actually had some food. Waitress was pleasant and very young and embarrassed. This could be an off day , things happen , but indicate at the outset what is available.
