We were stopping nearby and fancied a Sunday Lunch so pre booked for 3pm, what a disaster, one of the party is gluten free and had the gluten free nut roast option along with another person who ordered the nut roast but stated they didn 't need gluten free, when they came both meals had yorkshire puddings on and the waitress didn 't know which was supposed to be the gluten free one, she says she didn 't want to ask the chef because he was 'in a bad mood ' I have a gluten intolerance but someone who had a seriously allergy would not want to eat here !! the rest of the food was very average, cold carrots that were probably left over from the carvery and not even warmed up, frozen sweetcorn, and parsnips and roast potatoes that tasted like they were cooked in dripping even though three of our meals were vegetarian options. A couple of the waitresses were very apologetic and very nice, but overall very disappointing after looking forward to it.
Having visited for a few beers the evening before we saw food being served then so decided to boom a table for the following evening.Friendly staff always helps and the food did not disappoint. It also let to a chat about the local source of the meat which is a butcher a couple of miles away! I am writing this review as we sit outside whilst my wife and friends buy up the shop!! Lovely pub and great food and heartily recommended.
What a lovely friendly village pub. Really nice atmosphere and staff were really friendly. We had the light lunch, because one of is is an OAP and wouldn't eat a large lunch. The light bite was enormous and much bigger than you would expect. Really good price. There were a good selection of beers too. Look forward to visiting in the summer and using the lovely beer garden. Highly recommend
We came here a family of three. We were greeted when arrived made very welcome. He took our orders and the portion size were very good, and very reasonable price. This is a charming village pub and has ample car parking at the rear of the property.
