Burger Barge - East Peoria

I always enjoy visiting this place. If you're feeling really hungry, don't hesitate to order the Big Kahuna version of any burger. It looks quite large, but it will definitely satisfy your appetite! The bun is perfectly toasted and holds its shape well, so you can expect to bite both the top and bottom. If it's too much for you, just take the leftovers home. The flavors are fantastic, and I highly recommend the bourbon burger. Also, consider arriving a bit early to enjoy a mimosa alongside your burger or sandwich.

The staff was very friendly. The Burgers was tasty. The ambient was special and nice music was playing in the background.

The decor had a shipwrecked, shabby vibe, which added some character to the place. However, I noticed that the menu had fewer items compared to what I had seen in previous pictures. Now, onto the food—this is where we deducted some points. We ordered three burgers with crinkle fries and one fish platter. Unfortunately, my husband’s burger was tasteless, very bland, and dry. He never leaves a burger unfinished, but today was an exception. My fish was just okay; everything was edible and the chips and coleslaw were decent. From being seated to saying our goodbyes, the meal took about 45 minutes. By the time we left, I started feeling ill in the car. I was the only one in our party of four who had the fish platter, which perhaps serves as a sign from the *Food Gods*: don’t order fish at a place called the *Burger Barge*. I was really looking forward to trying this place, especially after hearing so much hype. It’s unlikely we’ll return, as we felt quite rushed throughout our meal. Additionally, the women's restroom had a broken lock, requiring us to jam the door shut and kick it open. Overall, this is a mixed review. It's not entirely negative or positive—just somewhere in the middle. We all have off days, and perhaps today was one of them.

I was impressed by the size of their burgers. They had great flavor and were juicy. My only complaint would be that they should keep the interior a bit cleaner.

The food was spectacular even though the restaurant wasn?t that great looking. Its designed as a barge shack and the decor really brings in the feel. It has a welcoming small burger place atmosphere. The staff were amazing and friendly. They keptchecking on us to make sure we had everything we needed. Definitely not a place to judge based on appearance because you willmiss the delicious and creative burger combinations. I had the steak and egg burger that was so delicious and filling. Thefunnel cake fries are a must have with plenty of powdered sugar (hint ask for more and they give you a side of powdered sugar)The music was great and outside tables were clean.
