We enjoyed a delightful Sunday roast and desserts at this restaurant. The portions were generous and the service was excellent with plenty of staff available. Our food arrived quickly and was hot and fresh. The vegetable tray was a nice addition and there was a variety of options available. Despite the hot weather, everything was still enjoyable. It had been over 10 years since our last visit to this pub restaurant, but we were not disappointed. We plan on returning next year when we visit Louth again.
We stopped at this restaurant for a quick lunch on our way home after spending the summer in the area. Our family group, ranging from 6 to 10 people, has visited before and we have always had a great experience. Today was no different. There were only two of us, and we both ordered lasagne - one with chips and garlic bread, and the other with chips, garlic bread, and salad. The friendly lady behind the bar assured us it was no problem, and we sat in the bar area. The food arrived promptly and we were impressed. The lasagne was a generous portion and the chips were real and delicious. The lasagne itself was excellent - firm and not like the microwave meals commonly found in other nearby establishments. The salad could have been fresher, but it was still good and nicely presented. Overall, we had a satisfying lunch and enjoyed another visit to The Wagon, a welcoming countryside pub with a restaurant. They offer a selection of well-prepared pub food at reasonable prices, as well as a good pint. We will definitely continue to return when we are in the area, as we have never been disappointed.
Great stop over for lunch and fantastic music from their jukebox. Would recommend to anyone and would return if in the area again.
Stopped here after a days travelling. The food was shocking! Children’s meals were chicken goujons and fish goujons but only had 2 very small thin pieces each. It was mainly a pile of chips. Each meal was just under £7! I had a burger that was very bland in flavour… cheap meat. My mums Bolognese had very little flavour. She had to coat it in salt and pepper to make it edible! Drinks overpriced too. A warm, cheap brand fruit shoot was £2.20 and was not chilled. They said my children couldn’t have a glass of cold milk? A very small half glass of lime cordial and soda was 1.30 Meal came to just under £50. I’ve had many meals for that price and this was substandard unfortunately. Decor needs updating, very dated and fusty. Apologises for bad review but just disappointing in all ways. Food and atmosphere need updating.
