She did not come back to our table once and the entire time she was giving us bad looks. It confused me because we have never had this type of service anywhere! The reviews say that they have friendly staff, so maybe the server had a VERY VERY bad day that day. The rest of the staff was friendly. We are going back soon and I will update if we have better service.
The ambiance inside, and decor and Asian-themes, are very welcoming/refreshing. Awesome fish tank, too. Sizable menu offerings. Our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Admittedly, our meal was delayed because they were low on both the chicken and Tilapia (fish) and had to thaw both for our meals. It happens, but wise is the culinary team who prepares for this… Otherwise, good meal and service.
I tried to explain that I’ve been ordering this dish the same way for years, but she interrupted me to say there were new owners. When I asked when that change occurred, she mentioned it was a year ago. I had just ordered the same thing two weeks ago without any issues. The woman at the front desk is jeopardizing your long-term customers. Her demeanor was rude, dismissive, and she seemed uninformed. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
I need to revise my previous review. I’ve mentioned before how much I enjoy the abundance of vegetables in their pho. I’ve visited this restaurant several times, and although it can be pricey, I understand that’s just how things are these days. However, last night I decided to treat myself to a sushi roll, which is quite a splurge for me. I was excited about it, but when I got home, I was shocked by the small portion of an $18 roll. While I know sushi can be expensive, I expect a full roll for that price. I verified that five pieces are considered a "normal roll" here, and yes, that is the case. I was truly taken aback that they would charge so much for so little food. In any other place I’ve been to, a roll typically comes with more pieces (either the same size or larger). Unfortunately, the sushi was far from the best I’ve ever had. To make matters worse, the sesame chicken was a letdown as well—bland and overly watery. After this experience, I can no longer recommend this restaurant. I’m really disappointed.
The dining room is beautiful, and the servers are friendly. The sushi rolls are delicious, and the Chicken Katsu Curry is excellent. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that both the Yakisoba and Gyoza were somewhat oily, which is often typical in many Asian cuisine restaurants. Overall, this is a fantastic spot right here in Eagle River!
