Duvall Grill is truly a hidden gem. The staff are charming and entertaining, and the food is always delicious. The ambiance is wonderful as well. I really enjoy going there with my husband for date nights.
My wife ordered the Rueben, which was absolutely delicious, albeit a little pricey. It featured thick-cut corned beef on nicely toasted rye bread (possibly from the nearby Grateful Bread) and flavorful sauerkraut—truly a standout version of this classic sandwich. After asking a few questions, I decided to try the biscuits and gravy, as it’s one of my favorites. It also seemed to be a reasonably priced option. I added a side of link sausage, which turned out to be an excellent choice; it was one of the best iterations I've tasted in the last five years, particularly outside the South. The scratch-made gravy was loaded with sausage and packed with flavor. I had inquired if they made their own biscuits, but they source them from Grateful Bread. They were fluffy and tasted freshly baked that day—absolutely perfect for soaking up the gravy. I enjoyed every bite. The side of potatoes, however, felt overcooked to me, but that could have just been my preference. The sausage links, whose producer I couldn’t identify, were also delightful—richly seasoned with sage and other herbs. If I knew who made them, I'd buy plenty for myself. Overall, this was a fabulous and unexpected find that I plan to revisit. We live about an hour away but definitely intend to return for breakfast or another meal in the near future.
My family and I have been coming he for years. We were here long before their expansion. We always enjoyed the food and felt taken care of. We even brushed off the fairly high price hikes. But tonight after standing at the front waiting to be seated with 4 tables open and Multiple staff ignoring us we were acknowledged after about 10 minutes. When I asked if we could have an open booth that was clean the hostess got huffy and wouldn 't seat us. We were instructed to wait LONGER as they wanted to seat others that came behind us. They do not take reservations by the way. We left and when I called to complain to the manager he informed me they can 't seat everyone at once. No apology, and we were the only ones for 10 minutes waiting. The dismisseivness and rudeness is enough. We will NEVER return to this over priced establishment.
I've not had a bad meal head yet,m. My wife, toddler daughter and I come down the hill once a month or so for dinner here and we love it. The service is friendly and welcoming of my young family. Their brunch menu is great too.
