This pub has recently changed hands.I know they are hoping to open again when guidelines permit.

Only came over this place quite recently, but love it. Always welcoming and with two wood burning stoves on the go quite cozy. A good selection of Ales and Apple Wine and a beautiful selection of meals. The food is really good. I had the Pheasant Burger with Cranberry today on the manager recommendation and it was nice. I would recommend a visit. Thank you for another nice meal. See you soon

The best place I've ever stayed at. The food is exquisite, huge portions and utterly delicious. The bedroom and facilities are outstanding. Beautiful interior design and attention to detail. Everything is fabulous, especially the warm welcome from the couple who own/run it, nothing was too much trouble. It's a real gem, only minutes away from Barnard Castle. The only bad thing about this place is having to leave.

We were made to feel really welcome. The food was well-priced, of good portion size and really delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and really pleasant. They also do their best to keep it family-friendly. Would gladly return if it were closer!
