Zaika India - Dunedin

My favorite Indian restaurant in Dunedin! The curries have a nice kick to them but are perfectly balanced, the naan bread is simply excellent, and the appetizers are bursting with flavor! It's definitely my top choice for Indian food.

We absolutely love this curry and frequently order it for delivery. It's incredibly delicious, and the service is consistently excellent. The tandoori, vegetarian dishes, and butter chicken are always top-notch.

We ordered takeout from Zaika last night, and it was amazing. We tried the Handi Lamb and the Chicken Sabziwala, both of which were excellent, featuring plenty of meat and delicious sauce. The onion bhajis were also tasty, although the vegetable pakoras could have benefited from a lighter and crispier batter. In our previous dining experiences at the restaurant, the staff has always been polite and friendly. Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant!

Just found this place recently and dined in the other night. I really enjoyed the entire dining experience the food and the service! The staff were attentive and we were brought over poppadoms and water right at the start without having to ask, which was great. Overall our meals were very delicious! The spice level we asked for (hot was perfect. I got a paneer dish and it was probably the best cooked from any restaurant I've been to in Dunedin (some others are a bit rubbery or chewy, but here it was perfect! . We were offered more rice without having to ask, which was also very nice. I would agree with the other reviewer that the food was not overly oily, especially our naan. Will definitely be going back there again! They also are BYO and have takeaways as well as in house dining.

Excellent food, prompt service and a great place for families. Only thing they need to work on is advertising. I have been living in Dunedin since 2009 and came to know about this place in September 2013.Highly recommended for Indian food lovers.
