フィードバックを提供するIt seemed like it was a shift change time, as many staff were busy organizing for the evening. We ordered a couple of beers at the bar and took a seat. Unfortunately, one of the beer glasses had a mark on it. When we mentioned this to a server, she awkwardly asked, "Is that your lipstick?" while pointing at my companion. That was quite uncomfortable! Eventually, they brought us a replacement beer, but it was served in a Coke glass. Despite having at least seven staff members on duty, all benefiting from the public holiday pay of $62.50/hour thanks to Aunty Jacinda, we still felt that customer service was lacking. While the team was great at helping each other, we received very little attention or smiles from the staff. This is a prime dining location, and many tourists gather in the Octagon. I really wish there was more focus on customer care rather than just style.
The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant are wonderful! The unique vintage style creates a comfortable yet classy vibe. I tried the mango cider jar, and it was absolutely delicious—refreshing and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. I also had the crispy squid without sauce, which was fantastic with a wonderful texture. I definitely recommend this place and will be returning!
Thank you for your excellent customer service and warm hospitality. The interior is truly amazing!
Ate here twice. The fish chips were good but nothing special. However the lamb which you cook yourself on a hot stone was excellent, probably because I could cook it the way I like it. Plus a good selection of beers on tap.
Great food. The garlic bread is some of the best I’ve ever had. Would definitely return when I’m back in Dunedin.
