Kim Jenny's Cafe - Duncanville

Great little mom and pop breakfast spot. My food was so good I ordered it twice and ate it in one sitting. Both pictures I ate everything except the waffles. Those were for my husband and he said he was full from just that????????????????!!!

Upon entering, the atmosphere felt a bit too open and sterile, but it became more welcoming once we settled into a booth. The service, however, left something to be desired. The only waitress on duty was friendly but not very attentive. We found ourselves having to call her over each time we needed something since she didn't check on us throughout our visit. She only came to our table to deliver our orders. Our food took an unusually long time to arrive, which led me to suspect a staffing issue, and I was correct. The owner or manager came over while we were eating to apologize for the delay due to a labor shortage and kindly informed us that our meal would be complimentary because we waited longer than we should have. This was a generous gesture, and although we tried to pay, he reduced our bill by half. As for the food, it was standard diner fare. We had weak coffee, eggs, good bacon, hash browns (which could have been fried more but were not overly greasy), toast, delicious grits, French toast (which was underwhelming), sausage, pancakes (which were quite good!), and breakfast tacos (using store-bought Mission flour tortillas, which was disappointing). We didn’t get to try the biscuits, which looked big and fluffy, nor did we sample the lunch menu. Overall, nothing from the menu really stood out as unique or memorable, except for the pancakes. The prices were higher than I expected for such a location and establishment size. On a positive note, the bathrooms were clean and well-maintained. Overall, the experience was just okay. If you do stop by, I would recommend the pancakes with bacon. A woman at the next table ordered a biscuit breakfast sandwich that looked absolutely delicious, but I didn’t get to try it.

I decided to grab a bite to eat while doing my laundry. I've noticed this place for two years but never tried it until today. It was fantastic! The food was well-cooked and absolutely delicious!

This is a wonderful family-owned diner in Duncanville. The service is excellent, and the staff are fantastic. Plus, it's recently been remodeled!
