フィードバックを提供するLocally known as "The Blue," this beloved spot is famous for its mouthwatering grilled oysters during the summer months. Nestled off Hwy. 116 in the historic town of Duncans Mills, CA, Blue Heron has been a cherished destination for many years. After being closed for a period, it proudly reopened in December 2008. The new owners aim to preserve the tavern's original charm, believing in the philosophy of "if it isn't broken, don’t fix it." Regular patrons adore The Blue, and you'll find a diverse mix of customers, from cowboys and businessmen to golfers and holidaymakers. This welcoming atmosphere attracts those seeking delicious food, drinks, and a good time at reasonable prices. Hikers from the East and South Bay often make the trip to enjoy a meal here and soak in the charm of Duncans Mills. Live music enhances the experience, with performances in the tavern from 6 PM to approximately 9:30 or 10 PM, Wednesday through Saturday, and music on the garden terrace Sunday afternoons. Recommended dishes include calamari, roasted beet salad, onion rings, a 100% Angus burger, tri-tip, chicken pot pie, meatloaf, mac and cheese, baby back ribs, and Bailey’s cheesecake. While the staff and kitchen team are still finding their rhythm for quick service and consistency, they are friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The atmosphere is casual and inviting—there’s nothing pretentious about The Blue; it feels like a warm welcome home. As you make your way to the restaurant, take a moment to notice the historical markers on the walls for a fascinating lesson about the infamous outlaw "Black Bart." The Blue Heron serves dinner Wednesday through Sunday starting at 5 PM, and lunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 PM. They offer a children's menu and nightly specials, dining in or takeout options, a full bar, and live music five nights a week. The establishment is also accessible for patrons with disabilities.
