Knockinaam Lodge - Dumfries Galloway

I visited this restaurant in March 2023 during a brief stop in the area. The setting is wonderful. We only ordered a scone and a cup of tea, but the quality was excellent. The staff, while not unfriendly, were not very engaging compared to other places we visited in the area. Due to this, we decided not to book for the future. However, I would suggest stopping by for a cup of tea and a snack. The restaurant has a rich history.

Recently stayed for 3 nights in April and it was absolutely fabulous. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Service was excellent and the food was outstanding. This hotel is definitely one of the top hotels in the UK. Housed in a former Victorian shooting lodge, it exudes charm and history. The breathtaking views of the sea and the peaceful atmosphere due to its secluded location make it a truly special place. Guests have the luxury of enjoying a private beach. The staff is exceptionally helpful, and the Michelin-starred chefs create amazing food using local, seasonal ingredients. The rooms are comfortable and full of character. We had a delightful experience staying for 2 nights and indulging in the 5-course dinner both evenings. The hotel offers a wonderful taste of British charm and style, and we couldn't find a single thing to fault.

We stayed in the Churchill room, and the luxurious bath alone made it worth it!
