Outstanding food and service in a charming, welcoming room. What a find! Girl and the Goose is a place I will seek out every time I visit Dublin.

Fantastic food and great staff would highly recommend

I brought my pretty wife here because I wanted to avoid my regular type hangouts and ease into a more serene environment. I prolifically visit rough places and fittingly slip myself in without pausing at the front door to look around, but I'd decided that my lovely bride deserved a genteel setting with plates that are presented rather than dropped before you and somehow I really picked a good one with the Girl and Goose Restaurant. It was a nice intimate setting with soft colors and lighting lit in such a way that it even made me look fetching. My wife picked up on a unique book arrangement as part of the aperture that led to the kitchen it was books placed with the paper side outward instead of the hard spine binding. A pic is attached, you can see what I'm talking about by looking to the left of my wife's shoulder. So the Meal! Lamb shank for me and shepherds pie for her, at least that’s what she called it a shepherds pie. A couple of hard drinks on my side of the table and water for her. It was a great display let me tell you, I was almost reticent to eat it but come on really? I'm an over weight American, I'm gonna eat what I order. A light desert for us, chocolate cake. We split it. This place was a nice change for us and I know that she appreciated it. Her palate is infinitely more advanced than mine and she can sometimes tell you what brand of spices were prepared in her meal and on this visit it was like an unexpected waltz of flavors skipped along her mouth. As for my part, I wash it down with a pint and keep a grateful heart. Dont overlook this Dublin gem. I'm telling you, it beats the pubs down stairs.
