The Captains Catch > Fish & Chips Shop

I had read good reviews about this shop and decided to give it a try. The service is efficient and friendly but that's where the good news stops. I had ordered a piece of fish and some potato scallops. while the presentation was better than some (came in a box with lemon) the scallops were burnt, the batter was mediocre and the fish was barely cooked. I had expected something better for the price, which is among the dearest in Dubbo for this kind of takeaway.

Fantastic hamburger, second only to Huckers Tucker in Inverell, the battered Hoki fillet was second only to Huckers Tucker in Inverell. There are lots of interesting posters in the store to look at while you wait, friendly and funny owner. I missed out the night before because they were closed.

Great arrangement of seafood available fresh and flown in daily, prepared with quality in mind reminded me that of Costies in Sydney, a pleasant surprise after a day on the road eating nicknacks....

This a real fish and chip shop and they clearly take pride in their shop and food. Very clean, well staffed, busy and quick service.

Friendly service and busy which was a good sign, Freshly cooked fish,grilled, crumbed or battered. Excellent chips, a variety of seafood options Tasmanian scallops, prawn cutlets etc plus the usual cafe fried food. 1st time to the captains catch wont be the last when i need a good dose of fish & chips
