Royal India - Douglas

I had many great curries in my life, but the chicken Ktikka Madras, which I had in the Royal India, was without a shadow of a doubt the best ever. You should be a maniac to visit Peel and not eat in Royal India. It's a taste.

Best India I've had a long time. Freshly flavored food and perfectly cooked meat.

Just had the pleasure to eat here. The service from the moment we walked through the door was exceptional, the staff were quick, and ultra polite. The food, wonderful, nice choice of dishes, including some Southern Indian dishes which aren’t always easy to come by. It's been many years since I eat at the Royal India and I'm not going to leave it as long this time. Lovely little restaurant with great service. We arrived spot on six and were seated immediately, very friendly waiter handed us the menus. Two mins later he was back for the drinks order and here is the only bad mark. Strongbow is not really cider and it's only drunk by people that haven't tried better.. get something decent in rather than something cheap.. Helen rescued the evening by ordering a bottle of prosecco!! Ok, orders placed, poppadoms tasted lovely, the pickle trays were sweet and very pleasant. Onto the main courses... Six stars!! Helen's paneer biryani was perfect. Fragrant, lovely blend of spices and very well cooked. My lamb chukka was simply one of the nicest curries I have ever ever had. Smokey, spicy and chilli heat with super tender lamb. Just fantastic. Without rushing we were in for less than an hour, as soon as we finished our starters the mains were there.. well priced too for the amount and quality of food Super friendly staff too. I have to be honest. Rather than getting a take away in Douglas I'm going to be driving to peel for one. Yes, it was that good. Thanks

Our family experienced the best Indian cuisine we've ever had. The staff was friendly and attentive, and Aneesh along with the other cook did an excellent job. We tried a variety of dishes, and everything was outstanding! We highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you, Aneesh and the entire team!
