フィードバックを提供するThe Boyne Brasserie, located within Daly's Inn but separate from the main building, is a spacious restaurant offering a menu of standard pub fare. I enjoyed the battered cod dish, while my wife praised her steak sandwich. The chips were served in small frying baskets, a unique and pleasing presentation choice that we have seen in other venues.
I had two fantastic meals two nights in a row at this beautiful restaurant. The setting was lovely and the staff were very accommodating both times.
My husband made a reservation at this restaurant for just the two of us after hearing great reviews from my father, however, it seems like we picked an off night. We had an early dinner at 6:30pm and were not surprised to find only one other table occupied. The restaurant was cold, so much so that I had to keep my coat on throughout the entire meal. Other guests also kept their coats on, so it wasn't just me who felt the chill. The starters were decent but nothing special, we both ordered steak. Unfortunately, there was a lot of fat left on my steak which was disappointing. The plates were cold, as was the garlic butter sauce, and the chips were not homemade. The onion rings were greasy. The dessert was okay and the coffee was good, but overall the restaurant lacked attention to basic details and the cold atmosphere was off-putting. The restaurant was quiet so there was no rush, but I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon. Perhaps it was just an off day for them.
We ordered The Cow Itself along with a chipotle pasta for 3 and was the perfect amount of food. We couldn 't fault a thing! The meat was cooked to perfection. It literally melted in your mouth and was very easy to cut through. The batter on the onion rings was light n tasty, the chunky chips were crispy on the outside and soft and steamy on the inside and the pasta had a subtle spicy kick. It really was a memorable meal and I would highly recommend travelling from afar to try it for yourself!
This was the surprising highlight of a poor trip to New Grange, we stopped off without reservation on a Friday evening and the place was empty. The decor is really nice and the young lady waiting tables was lovely, the food was really good and reasonably priced. The starters arrived in a timely manner ribs for myself and stuffed mushrooms for she who must be obeyed, my wife played safe with batter fish and chips, I went with rib eye steak sandwich which was incredible, pre sliced and so tender it practically fell apart. Will eat here again.
