The Glasshouse - Donegal

The glasshouse restaurant at the Sand House Hotel has few to equal the quality of food on offer. From the starter selection the splendid hot cold seafood platter, fresh fishcakes and the deep, creamy seafood chowder stand out. From the main course selection, one should not pass on the fresh sea-bass, served with fresh prawns and crab claws, the meat dishes of slowly braised lamb shank and rib steak were delicious. A splendid cheeseboard is available after dinner, but the homemade rhubarb crumble with custard takes some beating. The service was also first class, non intrusive but always attentive with a smile. Well done to Chef John McGarrigle and the team at the Sand House Hotel, a truly magnificent dining experience.

This restaurant is fantastic. The views of Donegal Bay are stunning, and the food is exceptional - fresh, local, and exciting just as described on the menu. The staff, from the manager to the servers, are fantastic - helpful, polite, and lovely to interact with. The food is incredible, with the freshness and quality of the ingredients shining through in every dish. Our experience was 5-star, and we can't wait to return.

We dined at this restaurant on Friday night and had a wonderful experience. The staff went above and beyond to make my parents' wedding anniversary special, and the food was delicious. The prices were reasonable and there were plenty of great menu options to choose from.

During our week-long stay, our family ate at this restaurant. The venue was fantastic, with incredible views in an amazing location. The set menu had a variety of options to choose from. While the portion sizes were a bit small, they were sufficient for adults. The kids' meals were also small but enough. The food was delicious and well-presented, and the staff were excellent. Overall, it was a great experience, with the only downside being the portion sizes. Otherwise, everything was wonderful.
