Schurman's Wisconsin Cheese

The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and asked if I needed help finding anything the moment I walked in. Delicious very fresh cheese curds. Found some Elderberry jelly from Slacks that my mother has been quite pleased with. The morel and leek jack is probably one of my favorite cheeses ever. I contemplate making the 6 hour drive back just to get more, it is that good.

Little cheese shop in Dodgeville. All cheese shops in Wisconsin are worth a visit, but this one had Pleasant Ridge Reserve, a cheese made with only the milk from the farmer's own grass feed cows. And Roth Grand Cru Alpine- style cheese which was featured on a Wisconsin foodies episode. Also, a grand collection of cheddar, from 2 year old to>10 year old aged, a variety of jams, pickled items, a collection of milk bottle for sale, and various other items. I'm glad we sought them out and visited. Yum.

CHEESE! And sausages what more do I need to say. Oh their ice cream is delicious too!

We set out with the goal of finding cheese curds and decided to stop by this cheese shop. The entrance was a bit unusual, as you have to walk through a narrow hallway and around a corner to reach the actual shop. Upon entering, we were 'greeted' by a man leaning against the counter who seemed more absorbed in his phone than in assisting customers. We began browsing, hopeful to find the local cheese curds that the large sign outside had promised. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any inside, so we asked the gentleman at the counter. Without bothering to look up, he shouted, "Nope, should have come yesterday!" He didn't even glance our way. I wouldn't make a special trip back to this shop in the future.
