The meat pie was savory and the crust was flaky delicious. The sconce had surprising stability while still being cornmeal. The pie was delicious. That's it's superlative. My only regret was not trying other pies! Will return to correct that regret!
Pros: Salted maple pie. Friendly staff.Pro Con: Rose pistachio cookies are so intensely rose flavored...it's great at first, but after a few bites, also too much. (I have rose flavored/infused goodies I enjoy so it's not that I'm not used to the flavor or something.)Cons: Just okay pie crust, dry chocolate cookies, lumpy texture and lacking flavor of sweet beet pie.
I ordered a variety of cookies to share with the Henry Ford hospital, labor and delivery unit as their team really helped out my team. While I was there, I also bought two of the potato lentil curry hand pies and they were ? ? ?.The treats were delicious and enjoyed by all!
My wife took her visiting sister to Sister Pie. They brought home a myriad of items, often recommended by others waiting in line. They looked tasty and were obviously an eclectic mix of ingredients and ideas. Unfortunately, none were particularly good. They were also highly expensive.Savory scones were dry and unpalatable- as scones often are. Vegan and gluten free brownies were also flavor free. The touted Salted Maple pie had a consistentcy like pumpkin pie. The crust was ridiculously dry and hard to cut through and the filler got eye-swirling, frowny face reviews from our oldest daughter (who is quite the baker) and myself. My wife and her sister did like the pie. Buckwheat chocolate chip cookies were also a flop. Rosemary shortbread cookies failed to impress. We had some other choices too; they're visible in the pictures. Daughter did like the peanut butter cookie but I think I had given up at that point.Sorry, but we won't make the special effort trip in the future.
Delicious, homemade pies in a charming neighborhood. Come early because they do sell-out quickly. They also have cookies. I liked the lemon meringue pie and buckwheat chocolate chip cookie which seemed healthier without sacrificing taste.
