Purveyor - Des Moines

My wife and I arrived at this restaurant on a Thursday evening at 7, only to be told by the person in charge that the kitchen was closed. We had come specifically to eat, so we were disappointed. As we were leaving, we bumped into a friend who was heading inside to grab a drink with her friend. Later on, we saw our friend again a few doors down, and she told us that the kitchen at Purveyor had made them food after we had left. I am sorry to say that I will not be recommending Purveyor to anyone, as I found their actions to be unprofessional and disappointing.

The Purveyor is an excellent wine and cheese bar. The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. We had a great time chatting with our server and chef. The wine and food were delicious. We will definitely return.

This place is a hidden gem! It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but if you're looking for a unique dining experience where you can enjoy a delicious sandwich paired with a surprising wine selection, then this is the place for you. The service is very personalized, and Drew really made our evening in this wonderful neighborhood even more special.

My first meal in Des Moines, so perhaps I've been spoiled. This hot sandwich is amazing (the Baron). Not only is the pork delicious but the bread is outstanding. Coupled with a good Sangiovese from the wine bar, this was a simple lunch to remember!And tonight apparently is paella night!

Great place to grab a glass of wine and light snacks. Friendly staff and knowledgeable about wine and Iowa based charcuterie items.
