Ordered the mussels, which you definitely need more bread to soak up all that delicious garlic broth that it comes in. Had to get the CFD Burger, of course. It was delicious, maybe slightly over-salted, but great flavor and juicy. Also got the scallops which were excellent. Super pleased with this cuteand delicious restaurant!
Very elegant and open. The decor and atmosphere were beautiful. The hostess was polite and my waiter was attentive, but not bothersome. The lunch menu was extremely limited. I asked to look at a dinner menu, and it had a few additions. None of theappetizers struck my fancy. A couple of the menu choices had potential, and I decided to go with the CFD burger. I balked at theprices a little bit until I tasted my food, which was absolutely delicious. The fries cost extra, but you should get them. Theylooked and tasted homemade. Definitely worth a return trip.
Absolutely fantastic! I was in town for the weekend and couldn't be happier that we chose this place for dinner. The service was warm and accommodating, the food was exquisite (especially the beef stew special), the drinks were delightful, and the prices were quite reasonable given the quality (we had an appetizer, two entrees, and two drinks). The atmosphere was also wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant and will absolutely return when I'm back in Des Moines!
Absolutely amazing! Everything was spot on—service, food, drinks, and ambiance. Even the bathrooms were top-notch. If you haven't discovered this gem yet or are unsure about giving it a try, just go! It's been a long time since I've had such an incredible dining experience. I give it a perfect 10/10!
The service at the restaurant was outstanding, and the waitstaff were fantastic! The atmosphere was enjoyable and had a unique charm. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the experience and felt overpriced. The chip and dip appetizer, priced at $6, included only a small handful of chips and some dip, which didn't seem worth it. My old fashioned was poorly crafted—it was not stirred properly, overly sweet with simple syrup, and lacked enough bourbon. The burger was decent, but the ratio of bread to patty was off, with too much bun. On the bright side, the sauces and patties were tasty, and the fries were plentiful and delicious. If I decide to return, I would skip most of the items I ordered this time, except for the fries.
