The White Swan Gressenhall - Dereham

Each time I dine here, the meal is always wonderful, complemented by the best service from the staff.

We made a last-minute reservation, and everything was fantastic. This is one of my favorite local restaurants. They have a beautiful selection of wood-fired dishes, all cooked fresh.

The chicken strip appetizer with paprika was excessive; two pieces of chicken would have been more than enough. The beef bourguignon was quite disappointing as well. The pieces of meat were tiny and seemed crushed, lacking flavor. It certainly didn't taste like it had any red wine in it. Since the primary reason for dining out is to enjoy the food, I’m afraid we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Have visited this pub several times recently. always had a really nice time. I like the atmosphere, it's like pubs used to be in front of the C word. the staff was always very helpful, eating is plentiful, and I think reasonably expensive. I wish I was a little closer, then I could have it as my native.

We came here accidentally (Gressenhall Museum was closed, so we came to the village to park and popped in for coffee). Then our walk to Swanton Morley went very pear-shaped (footpath closed with a long diversion). So we cancelled our lunch booking there and returned to the warm welcoming Swan! We were glad we did, it is beautiful inside, the food was really excellent with generous portions, service very friendly and helpful. Food prices on the high side but we didn't feel it was unreasonable for what we had. We didn't know it was a community pub and will try to support it again, though we are not very local. It is clearly very professionally run.
