Fabulous overnight in the empire hotel. beautiful old building that has been restored without sacrificing the charm. brand and all staff were friendly and helpful. we were in the platypus room, small but comfortable bed and nice clean on suite. eating was delicious to finish definitiw with the sticky date pudding. I lost a very valuable earring that was found and posted home!

Room: comfortable bed. good heating. nice suit. drinks: dips in caffe can be delivered to the room. breakfast, brot, etc., available in the living room. note: very clean. friendly helpful staff.

Excellent pub food. had to start the smoked crispy chicken wings, with 42° grease, which perfectly complicated the juicy wings. for the net was the lammage spectacular, probably the best I had. the lambskin was hearty and deep, the best was perfectly executed and the seasonal veg completely delivered perfectly damped, ultra fresh, great variety. for dessert had a sticky date pudding that was fluffy and generous. the restaurant, and the room where we were, was also very good with a modern bathroom.

Very friendly accommodation with hospitality rarely found in these days. the staff are excellent and work very hard in this popular hotel. local hotel regulations complement the atmosphere in the bar and are very friendly. mark the proprietor took us on a dam platypus tour at his day, which was very appreciated! and we have seen platypus!
