The Historic Artisan Downtown - DeLand

Stayed there a few days ago for a business trip overnight, rooms were well updated and very clean. No issues.Rooms: 5/5

Front desk was talking to housekeeping on the phone when we arrived to check-in, she didn't acknowledge our arrival and continued her conversation. Very quickly had me sign documents and gave us parking pass and room key no more information. We were visiting to see a show that eavning. There is keyless entry code on the building. We stopped by front desk on our way out she was on the phone yet again and didnt acknowledge me standing there waiting to ask if we would have any trouble entering the building late with our key. We had a time constraint so I couldn't stand there waiting and being ignored. After our event the building was locked and there was no hotel staff...zero. unpon calling no one answered. We were locked out of our hotel and had our wallet and car keys inside the room.!!! No one on call for any assistance! We couldn't get dinner and sat outside of hotel for over an hour until luckily another guest opened the door. Next day owner made excuses for negligence of her employee. Nothing was done to correct the fact our short visit was ruined by being completely locked out of our hotel with no assistance. Horrible visit. Horrible customer service. Avoid at all cost!!

While only a place to rest my head during the Rolex 24, this was a nice place to stay. Lots of bars/restaurants within walking distance should you want to explore the area. The doors are locked after 9 pm (you will be given a key code to get in after check-in), but I called in advance and let them know I would be checking in late; there is a 24 hour desk agent that let me in.
